„Textile Workshop“ mit Narek Arushanyan (in englischer Sprache, mit Anmeldung bis 14.11. unter kontakt@kunsthallebarmen.de)
One of a thousand practices of change to explore and think through non-formal and experimental environments. Continuing from the idea, “Knowledge is collective.” students in collective situations will create new truths—destroying, changing, and transforming forced ideas in everyday life, and reclaiming what we want to see on our bodies and in the cities where we walk.
Everything happens in the moment of change—not the day before, not the day after. The change is now, in the way we act, think, and make together. One day together—to find an attractive and joyful way to live, learn, and create collectively. To use all our power to change things as we wish. Should we polish everything, or maybe we want to live in a dirty city?
Program at 21st November:
Part 1: Introduction and discussion about the idea and process of the workshop.
Part 2: Working with clothes that students bring and collect—thinking, cutting, stitching, and creating new looks using scissors, thread, needles, sewing machines and etc.
Part 3: A collective walk—exploring how we move, our bodies, what we should change, destroy, and build; imagining how we’d like to see people on the street, what they might wear, or where they might go.
