Die Polizei ist Trägerin des staatlichen Gewaltmonopols. Zugleich weisen Statistiken auf einen Anstieg der Gewalttaten gegen Polizeikräfte hin. Wie erleben Polizist*innen Gewalt in ihrem berufl ichen Alltag? Wie wirken polizeiliche Maßnahmen auf die davon Betroffenen? Und welche Präventionsansätze gibt es? Nach einem Impulsvortrag zu Ergebnissen der aktuellen Polizeistudie „Motivation, Einstellung und Gewalt im Alltag von Polizeivollzugsbeamten (MEGAVO)“ diskutieren Fachleute aus Polizei und Wissenschaft über Herausforderungen und Perspektiven im Spannungsfeld zwischen Polizeigewalt und Gewalt gegen die Polizei.
Eine Podiumsdiskussion von Kunsthalle Barmen und Dr. Tim Lukas (Moderation).

Wie polizeiliche Kontrollen in offenen Drogenszenen erlebt werden, ist in einer begleitenden Ausstellung im Haus der Jugend zu sehen. Die Ausstellung „[Über]Leben im Risikoumfeld“ gibt Einblicke in die Lebenswirklichkeit der Drogenszene am Kölner Neumarkt.

The police are the bearers of the state’s monopoly on the use of force. At the same time statistics point to an increase in acts of violence against police officers. point to this. How do police officers experience violence in their everyday work? How do police measures have on those affected by them? And what prevention approaches exist? After a keynote speech on the results of the current police study ‘Motivation, attitudes and violence in the everyday life of police officers (MEGAVO)’, experts from the police and academia will discuss police and academia discuss challenges and perspectives in the between police violence and violence against the police. How police checks are experienced in open drug scenes will be can be seen in an accompanying exhibition in the Haus der Jugend. The exhibition ‘[Surviving] life in a risky environment’ provides insights into the reality of life of the drug scene on Cologne’s Neumarkt.
